Dayboro Community of Events Working Group and Community Consultation

Unfortunately, the DDPAI has been unable to recruit adequate volunteer organisers to be able to run Dayboro Day in 2025/2026. As a result, a Dayboro Community of Events Working Group has been established to assess ideas for any future events for 2026 and beyond. The group previously provided online surveys for members of the community and local business to complete. As a result of the survey outcomes the following areas are proposed to be established for 2026.

Dayboro Heritage Trail – Town of Yesteryear Event.

Discussed at length that this will be an event to build upon and to start small and ensure it celebrates all thing Dayboro and incorporates the township and business. The purpose of this event is Showcase Dayboro. Discussions included to ensure we work with the local historians of the township and work with other community groups to ascertain interest in helping and being part of the event. The event is suggested at this stage to be in March subject to what other events are occurring in the district and what may coincide with historical events of Dayboro. Paul will seek guidance from Carmel on this topic.

The event times have yet to be determined until further collaboration with other areas to ensure they work for other groups and events. This will not be an all-day event as it is not to replicate Dayboro Day. The town will NOT be closed to traffic for this event, and a full program has yet to be decided. We will require further input as to the events program to create and meet again in 7th February 2026 (9:30am to 11:00am). A council permit will be required and applied for after the November meeting when further details are known but will capture the area that encompasses the historic walk-in town.

If you would like to be involved in this group, please contact the DDPAI Secretary via email secretary@dayborodistrict.com.au for further information.

Dayboro Winter Celebration Event

Work with organisations such as spinners to put on demonstrations and seek to have events planned around the town.  Paul to contact Shirley Colston to find out how to help more with their event.
